It’s a wild ride

Took Joelle to the Children’s Museum again this week. We have free passes for a year, and she really likes the art room! She loves being able to paint and use all the art supplies!

Apparently she didn’t like my face paint design ;)

Stopped by the side of the road to get some pictures of the amazing fog! I think it’s so cool when it’s foggy in the afternoon!

Begin Anywhere

Sometimes getting out of a photography funk means taking your camera with you everywhere. And sometimes that includes Food Lion.

The drive home was soooo lovely!

What do you do to get out of a funk?

Josie - Sometimes, when I’m writing a short story and I have to take a break because I’m suffering from a case of writer’s block, I just have to start writing something, anything. Even if just a five minute writing prompt. That way, I’m in the habit of writing on a regular basis.. even if it’s not a story. Make sense? :)

Sunday Starbucks

It’s no secret that I’m obsessed with Starbucks. Pretty much every Sunday, DJ and I meet at Starbucks and get our caffeine fix before church :) I’m the kind of person that will always take a frappe. Latte’s are delicious, but I don’t know, there’s just something about a frappuccino that I love. Even when it’s wintertime, give me a frappe and I’m a happy girl. This morning I tried an caramel iced coffee, and it was ok, but I had to add 3 sweeteners to it! Haha! I think it would have been better if I added milk, but I’m lactose intolerant, and soy milk is so expensive!! Starbucks is obviously super expensive… I spend on average $4-$5, and that’s if I just use regular milk. But if I get it soy, it’s closer to $6. I’m still using my Starbucks gift cards I got for Christmas, but it’s almost gone :(

Here are some of my favorite drinks:

  • Caramel Ribbon Crunch – this frappe is only available in the summertime, and it’s my FAVORITE Starbucks drink!! I usually get it without the crunch, just because I’m not really a fan of the texture
  • Mocha Frappuccino – oh my gosh, this frappe has so much chocolately goodness it’s not even funny. I don’t even want to think about how many calories are in this drink. Seriously, it’s SO good! But sometimes it’s just too chocolately, you know? Who knew you could have too much chocolate? ;)
  • Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino – only available in the fall, but so good! A lot of people think it’s kinda gross, but I like it a lot! It’s obviously more popular in the latte form, and I like either one!
  • Peppermint Hot Chocolate – this one is super good in the wintertime when I don’t want to spend lots of money, but still want my Starbucks fix :) Word of warning: don’t give this to children. Haha!! Sometimes I’ll get Joelle a kids peppermint hot chocolate, and she goes CRAZY for the rest of the day!! It’s actually kind of funny ;)
  • White Chocolate Mocha Frappuccino – you’d think this would taste just like the mocha frappuccino, but it actually doesn’t! It’s definitely not as chocolately, but it’s still just as good!
  • Caramel Brûlée Frappuccino – not sure how long this one is available, but it’s one I tried in December and loved!! It’s got a different taste to it, but it’s a good different!

Does anyone have any cheap drinks you like? I’m really not a fan of teas, which I know are the cheapest drinks! Haha! I would love the expensive drinks ;) What is your favorite coffee to get?

Josie - Ahh… I understand. I so wish drinks at Starbucks were cheaper! I’m not a big fan of tea either (it has to be really good tea for me to be interested) but I love their Carmel Frappuccino, as well as the Double Chocolate Chip… and their Peppermint Mochas and Pumpkin Spice Latte. :)
